About

After 25 years, in 2017 Margaret Bennet-Alder, creator of the original and much-loved Toronto Gardener’s Journal & Source Book, decided to transfer her labour of love to a new team of gardeners.

2022 was our 30th edition!

Read Margaret’s story here. The 2022 edition marked the fifth year since Margaret passed the reins of her beloved garden journal to “those Battersby girls,” Helen and Sarah, the sisters who’ve collaborated since 2006 on the award-winning blog Toronto Gardens.

Our 2022 journal sold out much faster than we’d expected, even with higher quantities for our anniversary. But the good news is that it won both Gold and Silver Medals from GardenComm, the association for garden communicators.

Our 2023 Journal also sold out quickly. As always, it gave you the tips and record-keeping tools that fans and soon-to-be fans love, plus 100s of plant and seed sources, and shortcuts to horticultural advice and services. With the 2024 Journal, coming in Fall 2023, we look forward to helping you record another year of happy times in your garden!
