About

After 25 years, in 2017 Margaret Bennet-Alder, creator of the original and much-loved Toronto Gardener’s Journal & Source Book, decided to transfer her labour of love to a new team of gardeners.

Award-winning content for Canadians

For our 9th edition since Margaret passed us the reins, “those Battersby girls,” sisters Helen and Sarah, are in turn passing them to a younger garden writer. We hope you’ll be thrilled to learn it’s the multi-talented Steven Biggs of Food. Garden. Life.

This year, the three of us have been working hard to transform our journal into the Canada Gardener’s Journal, with resources from coast to coast. We’ve made it a perpetual diary, so depending on your activities you can make it last one year, two years, even three! No more sad blank weeks. What about the tips? They’re still there, a seasonal guide in English et en français.

We hope you love our True North edition. And, as always, we look forward to helping our loyal and our newest buyers record those fruitful times in your garden!
